Activity

DASI — Democratic Alternative for Georgia — is a non-for-profit organization based in Zurich, Switzerland. We mostly unite Georgian expats, yet we are open to everyone who shares our values and wants to be involved in building a free Georgian society. We bring together people from many paths — politicians, civil activists, journalists, engineers, designers, lawyers, and business leaders — to run permanent programs and ad-hoc initiatives that protect liberty and strengthen institutions.

Who we are

DASI sees itself as a contemporary continuation of the nineteenth-century Georgian activist movement known as the Second Dasi — a generation that fused civic culture, education, and public courage to lift a nation. Our work translates that spirit into today’s tools: open media, transparent data, legal support, and international networks.

Permanent Programs

  • • Freedom of speech & media resilience
  • • Civic education & citizen training
  • • Rule-of-law monitoring & legal aid
  • • Diaspora mobilization & partnerships

Ad-hoc Initiatives

  • • Rapid response against censorship and propaganda
  • • Fact-finding missions and policy briefs
  • • Support for peaceful assembly and election integrity
  • • Emergency aid for at-risk journalists and activists
